NPM Program Late Work Policy

If students communicate with their instructor prior to the due date of an assignment about the need for an extension, the instructor has the discretion to:

1. accept the late work with no penalty;
2. accept the late work with some penalty of their choosing (which will be applied consistently from student to student, i.e. 10% off for each late day); or,
3. refuse to accept the late assignment (resulting in a 0 grade for the assignment).  

If students do not communicate with their instructor prior to the due date of an assignment and submit work late, either a penalty will be applied by the instructor, or the assignment will not be accepted.  

A notable exception to all late work is that final assignments may not be submitted late without the advance submission of a request for an Incomplete by the student to the instructor.  The Incomplete process is outlined in the University Catalogue.
