Department of Applied Psychology Late Work Policy
This policy is applicable to all programs in the Department of Applied Psychology including the Master of Arts in Industrial and Organizational Psychology (MIO), Master of Arts in Psychology: Specialization in Military Psychology (MAMP), Master of Arts in Applied Psychology (MAAP), and Doctor of Philosophy in Industrial and Organizational Psychology (DIOP).
- Assignment Submission and Due Dates:
- Students must post Discussions and Assignments via the LMS portal by 11:59 p.m. in their time zone, on or before the due date.
- Assignment Due Date Extension Requests:
- Extension requests made prior to the assignment due date during weeks 1 through 7:
- Faculty may elect to approve extensions for students who make requests prior to the due date of the assignment during weeks 1 through 7.
- Faculty may elect to refuse extension requests.
- Faculty may elect to approve extension requests with no point deduction.
- Faculty may elect to accept extension requests with a point deduction of their choosing.
- Extension requests made during week 8:
- Faculty will not provide extensions for work during week 8.
- Students who need to request an extension during week 8 must submit an Incomplete request.
- Faculty will not provide extensions for work during week 8.
- Extension requests made after the assignment due date:
- Students who request extensions following the due date of the assignment may earn partial credit for their work, at the discretion of the instructor.
- Faculty may elect not to accept late work for which prior arrangements have not been made.
- Faculty who elect to accept late work for which an extension has been requested after the due date will deduct points based on a predetermined schedule outlined by the faculty member.

- Late Submission with no request for an extension:
- Submission of Late Assignments with no request for an extension:
- Students who submit late work without making a request for an extension may earn partial credit for their work, at the discretion of the instructor.
- Faculty may elect not to accept late work for which an extension has not been requested.
- Faculty who elect to accept late work for which an extension has not been requested will deduct points based on a predetermined schedule outlined by the faculty member.
