What is a Web Browser?

A web browser is the computer program you use to access and view websites on the Internet. Many users don't know that they can choose from several good browsers, one of which might provide a better experience than the default browser that came with their computer system. This video explains the basics of choosing a web browser.

The LMS and Your Web Browser

The LMS is designed to always work best on the most recent version of all the major web browsers. Chrome is the recommended browser for accessing the LMS for faculty and students. Our supported web browsers are:

This means that for the best experience, you will need to keep your computers updated with the latest version of web browser. You will also need the Flash plug-in version 10 or greater to take advantage of the newest features in the LMS.

Please note that Microsoft Internet Explorer is not a supported browser.  Users attempting to access the LMS via Internet Explorer may experience issues accessing some features of the system.

TIP: It is always a good idea to have two leading browsers installed. If you experience a minor glitch in the LMS (or elsewhere), it often can be easily solved by using a different browser.

We recommend you use Chrome as this is the newest and most reliable browser. Further, the LMS tends to work best in Chrome. If you are not comfortable using Chrome we recommend you use Firefox.
