Student Responsibilities in Online Discussion Communication

  1. Students are expected to proactively participate in the educational process.
  2. Students are expected to post and respond to comments within the timeframe which is listed for each discussion forum. 
  3. Students are expected to use critical thinking when responding to discussion questions and responses.
  4. Students are expected to pose questions to peers that require critical analysis and encourage continued dialogue.
  5. Students are expected to share scholarly resources to support opinions or further discussion where applicable.
  6. Students are expected to demonstrate their commitment to self-awareness by examining their reactions to prompts and posts within the online classroom.
  7. Students are expected to directly connect lived experiences to the content being discussed.
  8. Students are expected to create an online environment which is conducive to the expression of a wide range of diverse opinions and perspectives.
  9. Students are expected to honor diversity on the discussion board by communicating respectfully and honestly.
  10. Students are expected to treat all peers with respect and professionalism when interacting in within the online classroom and to adhere to all other policies delineated in the Nettiquette statement (https://connect.adler.edu/studentservices/gcstudentservices/Documents/Netiquette%20Policy.pdf)
